Spinach Thoran (Cheera thoran)

Ingredients:


Palak or Spinach, finely chopped                 2cups (compressed and measured)
Oil                                                             1 tbs
Mustard seeds                                            1/2 tsp 
Shallot                                                       10 nos
Green chilly,  finely chopped                       1no
Coconut, grated                                         1/2 cup
Cumin powder (jeera powder)                    1/2 tsp
Turmeric powder                                        1/2 tsp
Minced garlic                                             1 clove
Salt, to taste


Preparation:


Heat oil in a pan and add mustard. Once it pops, add shallots and green chilly; sauté until it softens. Add spinach  and sauté it for 10 seconds then keep it closed on low flame. After five minutes, open the lid and mix in ground coconut, turmeric, cumin powder, garlic and salt. Remove from flame.

Ready to eat with rice or chappathi as a side dish. Thank you :)
